{"id":1204,"date":"2006-11-29T11:24:27","date_gmt":"2006-11-29T16:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.com\/blog\/?p=1204"},"modified":"2006-11-29T11:24:27","modified_gmt":"2006-11-29T16:24:27","slug":"holiday_loaf_ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.catchingfirefliesgifts.com\/blog\/2006\/11\/holiday_loaf_ca\/","title":{"rendered":"holiday loaf cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe was submitted to our cookie contest by Winkie Covintree.&nbsp; She got this recipe in college from a generous friend, and it&#8217;s always been devoured in no time!<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees<br \/>Grease the bottom of a 9&#215;5 loaf pan<\/p>\n<p>In a medium bowl combine:<br \/>1 3\/4 cups flour<br \/>1 tsp baking soda<br \/>1\/2 tsp salt <br \/>1 tsp cinnamon<br \/>1\/2 tsp nutmeg<br \/>1\/4 tsp ginger<br \/>1\/4 tsp ground cloves<\/p>\n<p>Cream:<br \/>1\/2 cup butter in a large bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Gradually add:<br \/>1 cup sugar.<br \/>Cream well.<\/p>\n<p>Blend in:<br \/>2 eggs<\/p>\n<p>At low speed add dry ingredients alternately with:<br \/>3\/4 cup pumpkin<\/p>\n<p>Stir in:<br \/>1\/2 cup chocolate chips<br \/>1\/2 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans<\/p>\n<p>Turn into prepared pan and sprinkle with:<br \/>1\/4 cup chopped nuts.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 65-75 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Drizzle with a glaze made by combining:<br \/>1\/2 cup sifted powdered sugar<br \/>1\/8 tsp nutmeg<br \/>1\/8 tsp cinnamon<br \/>and 1-2 tbsp cream or half and half<\/p>\n<p>Let cake stand at least 6 hours before slicing.<\/p>\n<p>OK. I know it&#8217;s not a cookie.
