{"id":1231,"date":"2006-10-08T07:42:27","date_gmt":"2006-10-08T23:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.com\/blog\/?p=1231"},"modified":"2015-04-11T22:29:39","modified_gmt":"2015-04-12T02:29:39","slug":"quaint_downtown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.catchingfirefliesgifts.com\/blog\/2006\/10\/quaint_downtown\/","title":{"rendered":"quaint downtown rockford, michigan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/downtown_4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-full\" title=\"Downtown_4\" alt=\"Downtown_4\" src=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/downtown_4.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" \/><\/a><span face=\"Courier New\">Since I was in Grand Rapids for a friends wedding over the weekend, I thought it&#8217;d be fun to spend some time with my mom and head to the cute little town of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rockford.mi.us\/community\/shopping-destination.htm\">Rockford<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span face=\"Courier New\">My sister-in-law also lives here and has raved about the wonderful fall harvest weekends they put on each year.&nbsp; In addition to the cute shops &amp; restaurants it definitely is a great place for family fun activities.&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/aunt_candies_5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-full\" title=\"Aunt_candies_5\" alt=\"Aunt_candies_5\" src=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/aunt_candies_5.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of my favorite boutiques are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jadeclothing.com\/gallery.html\">Jade<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insiderpages.com\/b\/3716429598\">Paper Doll<\/a>.&nbsp; They both carry a wonderful assortment of fabulous frocks, bags and accessories. <\/p>\n<p>Aunt Candy&#8217;s is a must stop for a HUGE assortment of unique toys &amp; goods for kids of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>My art fair friend, Apryl Lea recently opened an artsy shop cleverly named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pawsitivevybe.com\/metalworks\/\">Pawsitive Vybe<\/a>.&nbsp; She offers an eclectic assortment of goodies for all dogs &amp; dog lovers and also does <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pawsitivevybe.com\/mambo\/\">dog training<\/a>.&nbsp; In fact just in the short time I visited her I got some awesome training tips for our dog Samson.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/corner_building_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-full\" title=\"Corner_building_1\" alt=\"Corner_building_1\" src=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/corner_building_1.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After an afternoon of shopping my mom and I dined at the classic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rockfordcornerbar.com\/\">Corner Bar<\/a>&#8230; where you have to get their famous chili dog with all the fixins.&nbsp; It was a perfect way to finish off a fun day about town.<\/p>\n<div id=\"flaresmith\" class=\"feedflare\"><script src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~s\/http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/catchingfireflies\/TyNo?i=http:\/\/www.catchingfirefliesgifts.com\/blog\/2006\/10\/quaint_downtown\/\" type=\"text\/javascript\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div><div class=\"linkwithin_hook\" id=\"http:\/\/www.catchingfirefliesgifts.com\/blog\/2006\/10\/quaint_downtown\/\"><\/div><script>\n<!-- \/\/LinkWithinCodeStart\nvar linkwithin_site_id = 944859;\nvar linkwithin_div_class = \"linkwithin_hook\";\n\/\/LinkWithinCodeEnd -->\n<\/script>\n<script src=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/widget.js\"><\/script>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/pixel.png\" alt=\"Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...\" style=\"border: 0\" \/><\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since I was in Grand Rapids for a friends wedding over the weekend, I thought it&#8217;d be fun to spend some time with my mom and head to the cute little town of Rockford.
