<\/a>If you’re not a fan of super sweet or thick frosting this recipe is for you! \u00a0In my opinion the texture of this tasty topping is quite divine and it’s just sweet enough to compliment the cake flavor. \u00a0(as many of our firefly fans can attest to!)<\/p>\nHere’s what you need:<\/p>\n
1 cup milk<\/p>\n
4 tablespoons of flour<\/p>\n
1\/2 cup Crisco<\/p>\n
1\/2 cup butter<\/p>\n
3\/4 cup sugar<\/p>\n
2 teaspoons vanilla<\/p>\n
First, heat the milk and flour on the stove and stir constantly until it thickens. \u00a0Let cool completely. \u00a0(I often put the pan in the freezer or fridge to speed up the cooling process)<\/p>\n Next, mix the Crisco, butter, sugar and vanilla. \u00a0Once creamed, add the cooled flour and milk mixture and beat on high until fluffy. \u00a0Spread on your favorite cake and enjoy! \n<\/a>Inspired by our recent diy birthday decoration<\/a> post, I decided to add some cuteness to our platter of pretty cupcakes. \u00a0I often do things on a whim so I managed to scrounge up some kabob sticks in the back of one of my kitchen drawers, pulled out some washi tape and stole some dental floss from our bathroom to make these party pennants.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a>By the time I was playing with these it was far too late to embark on making over a hundred to send off to the stores, but I’ll store this idea away for another day.<\/p>\n
