{"id":388,"date":"2009-08-12T22:58:08","date_gmt":"2009-08-12T22:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.com\/blog\/?p=388"},"modified":"2009-08-12T22:58:08","modified_gmt":"2009-08-12T22:58:08","slug":"strawberry-rhubarb-crisp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.catchingfirefliesgifts.com\/blog\/2009\/08\/strawberry-rhubarb-crisp\/","title":{"rendered":"strawberry rhubarb crisp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451dba369e20120a543ff63970c-pi\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rhubarb2\" border=\"0\" class=\"at-xid-6a00d83451dba369e20120a543ff63970c \" src=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451dba369e20120a543ff63970c-800wi\" title=\"Rhubarb2\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Typically I try not to turn the oven on in the summer months, however the grocery store cleverly placed their rhubarb display right next to the strawberries which gave me the idea for this tasty treat.&#0160; I remember my mom making rhubarb pie when I was younger and I loved it, but never made it myself.<\/p>\n<p>As lovely as pies are, I personally think you get a similar result with a lot less work by whipping up a crisp.&#0160; So I googled away and found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooks.com\/rec\/view\/0,1837,147170-251204,00.html\" target=\"_blank\">this simple recipe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451dba369e20120a5440abe970c-pi\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rhubarb1\" border=\"0\" class=\"at-xid-6a00d83451dba369e20120a5440abe970c \" src=\"http:\/\/catchingfireflies.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451dba369e20120a5440abe970c-800wi\" title=\"Rhubarb1\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 20px; color: BLACK;\">4 c. rhubarb pieces (about 1 lb.)<br \/>2 c. sliced strawberries<br \/>1 c. sugar<br \/>1 1\/3 c. flour, divided<br \/>1\/2 tsp. cinnamon<br \/>1 c. brown sugar<br \/>1 c. old fashioned rolled oats<br \/>1\/4 tsp. nutmeg<br \/>1\/2 c. butter, melted &amp; cooled<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #772222;\">In large bowl combine rhubarb, strawberries, sugar, 1\/3 cup flour and cinnamon. Transfer to greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish.<\/p>\n<p>In<br \/>\nanother bowl combine remaining 1 cup flour with brown sugar, oats and<br \/>\nnutmeg. Add butter and blend well to create the streusel.
