cupid is going to be BUSY!
A BIG thank you to all the crafty kids & adults who brought us LOADS of Valentine cards for patients at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.  It’s safe to say that the magical glitter, bright markers, shiny stickers & fun foam embellishments will bring much joy to the kids who have to spend their holiday in the hospital. Here’s a quick peek of some of the deliveries cupid will be making this weekend… We will .

Since we’re collecting handmade Valentine cards from our firefly fans to distribute at Children’s Hospital of Michgan, we thought we’d share some clever ideas from Miss Martha and Disney’s Family Fun. Don’t boxed Valentine cards look boring after perusing these pretties? And if you’re crafty with the scissors & glue… we’ve even added some snazzy clip art you can use. And for the kids that like to color, print this sweet sheet. We’ll be .

Wishing you love, compassion, peace and hope this wonderful holiday season. One of the many things I'm grateful for is that God believes in me.  The always inspiring, Rob Bell paints a beautiful picture of this. Thank YOU for partnering with us this past year to help us make a difference in our community.  Looking forward to see where we can shine our light in 2011.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to host a Roots & Shoots Club GIving Tree.  This Clawson based community service club for kids believes it's important to foster respect & compasion for all living things, to promote understanding of all cultures & beliefs and to inspire everyone to take action to make the world a better place for people, animals & the environment. So they got together & made some beautiful ornaments for you .

2010 MHS Mega March

2010 MHS Mega March
It was a sunny, yet chilly day for our 5th Annual Mega March Walk.  Thanks to our generous firefly fans, we were able to raise $750 to help our furry friends find forever homes!  Since the temp was a bit nippy… lots-o-dogs were sporting their stylish winter-wear;) It's not everyday you see doggy leg warmers! This gal has to be Dumbos long lost cousin… don't you think? Nothing like a gurgling fountain of water .

berkley turns TEN!
It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since Steve & I signed our very first commercial lease in downtown Berkley. It was scary & exciting all at the same time… the rent was double our house mortgage, we just hired 5 people to help us produce our line of paper goods & we were opening our very first retail store! Remember these days? No pretty purple awning, only 500 square feet of .

Here at catching fireflies, we believe it's important to give back to our community and are big fans of furry friends of all shapes and sizes. We originally adopted our first cat, Tuesday, twelve years ago from a local humane society and she has given us great joy, amusement and love throughout the years. Not long after we added Piper- our oh-so-loved store cat & more recently a rescued Basset Hound, Gus to our .

We’re all about the fun extras at catching fireflies, however we’re also aware that there are many families who don’t have the luxury of filling up a shopping cart of needed school supplies. So we’re collecting new school goods during the month of August, then turning them over to the Judson Center for distribution. What is needed: backpacks, pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, kid scissors, notebooks, folders, binders, rulers, thumb drives, index cards, tissues, hand .
