hey soul brother

Born ruffians

I liked this song by the Born Ruffians the first time I heard it on XM Radio.  It's so new, my snazzy Shazam app didn't even recognize it.  Come to find out it's a free download to promote their new album that's being released in June.

After I googled the lyrics, I liked it even more.  They're just so fun & quirky…

Get your act together, please.
Help your papa to gather leaves.
Go and help your grandfather
He’s seventy-seven and you are eleven
So rake the yard or clean the eaves troughs
It’s one or the other, so go help your papa please.
Oh ooooh

You never ask sister to help with the chores that are physically straining
Sometimes I wish that I was a sole brother.
You never (you never) ask sister (ask sister)
To help with the chores that are physically straining
Sometimes (sometimes) I wish (I wish) that I was (i was)
a sole brother an only child

I know I fake it, I wish I was a soul brother

Jessica, I love you but I wish I was a sole brother.
