  1. Making a Difference! This weekend I’m walking in the Pink Ribbon Walk @ Petworth House, England. In honor and memory of all those effected by Breast Cancer!
Also, for the past 6 years I’ve volunteered at Sandcastles Children’s Grief Support Program on Tuesday evenings! I am one of the facilitators of the 10-12 year old group. Why? it just feels good to give back! Children and families come to be start the process of healing after a death. The children help each other find strategies to cope and provide a TON of support!
Volunteer! Best way to make others feel better and in turn you’ll feel GREAT!

  2. I try to be kind even if I am upset or angry at something or someone. It doens’t always work, but I try!

  3. Goodmorning, i make a difference every day by smiling at anyone or everyone, i always try to share a little sunshine by being kind!
    enjoy your day.
    Melissa from Naches, WA

  4. I try to pay it forward everyday ….. you never know how much something so small can make someones day a little brighter :)

  5. I have been a member of a number of nonprofit boards over the years because I firmly believe that “to whom much is given, much is required.” Volunteer is one of the most important aspects of my life and I am trying to begin to instill that in my toddler so he make a difference too!

  6. I am an active member of the junior league do volunteer work through the league. I also set up volunteer opportunities for the college students I work with to take part in, so they too can learn the value and joy of giving back!
    ooh I recycle too!

  7. I live on a small sustainable farm. We compost all our household food scraps, to be used for fertilizer and mulch in our garden. We grow fruits and veggies, and we sell them to our neighbors and local community – so we can provide truly fresh, organic, local foods for our community. We also raise animals for eggs and meats – and we let all our animals live a natural life, outside, in the sun and grass, and we love every one of them. We try to take care of our little patch of earth in a sustainable way, doing everything green that we can.

  8. My husband and I volunteer for Lab Rescue of Florida. We adopted our sweet chocolate lab, named Kona. We help spread the word about these wonderful dogs who need a good home, do home inspections, and go to local events. We also teach our children that having a pet is a gift, and it is our responsibility (and joy) to take care of him properly. We buy quality food, keep up to date on vet visits and walk our dog twice a day. He is truly a member of our family.

  9. I get up everyday with a smile and thank God I am alive…..I try and pass that same spirit on to others I meet thru out the day – I also sing or dance or both thru out the day and I make it a point to laugh!! I find that my smile and laughter are contagious ….and what a great gift to pass on!

  10. I work in a hospital and I always take a moment to listen if a patient wants an ear to hear. Just taking the smallest of moments to give a smile or a squeeze of a hand can make someones day.

  11. I go to 2 food banks 3 or 4 times a year, each, Focus: Hope and Gleaners food bank.
    I volunteer in my city.
I always try to be nice to people.

  12. I try to SMILE and say Hi to everyone I pass in the hall….on the street….at the store….you don’t know what kind of day that person may be having and it could brighten their day a little : )

  13. I have been organizing a group of fifteen volunteers to volunteer at Forgotten Harvest 1, 2 times per month since September. It is a fantastic experience and wonderful way to make a difference locally!Everyone can do it and they accept volunteers Monday-Saturday.

  14. I am president of the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, Inc. (www.loveoflinda.org), a non-profit that provides financial assistance to Cape May County, NJ cancer patients who are undergoing treatment for the disease. Since our inception in 1994, we have helped over 1700 patients and have given over 1.25 million dollars to these patients to help defray the cost of treatment and the ancillary expenses associated with it. Love of Linda is in memory of Linda Bickel Grassi. When diagnosed with ovarian cancer, her friends and colleagues came together to raise money for her medical expenses. Sadly, Linda passed away at the young age of 46. Love of Linda raises funds in her memory and honor. Linda’s daughter Christa is one of my closest friends. I dedicate my time and energy to help keep the fund alive and to make a difference in the lives of those who truly need it.

  15. I volunteer with the American Cancer Society and Co-Chair a Community Relay For Life event. I also am captain of our elementary schools team and encourage our students to get involved and make a difference in the fight against cancer.

  16. We support Hulio in quatemala through compassion international and he is in our prayers each night!!

  17. I am a high school special education teacher and have to deal with difficult situations every day. I have to call and meet with parents dealing with their child’s behavior or lack of progress; I try my best to uplift these parents, but sometimes it’s difficult. So, each day I choose a random student, either from my class or a student I know from the hallway, and I call their parent or guardian and tell them how fantastic their child is. I love hearing the relief in their voice when they realize they are receiving a positive call from the school.

  18. I make a difference to the JDRF and to my kids who are both type 1 diabetics. My daughter is 7 and my son is 14. We see everyday how difficult life can be managing diabetes and also living as a child and teenager with this disease. We have put together a team for the JDRF walk for a cure and we are raising money to find a cure for this horrible disease! I know it sounds weird but we have rallied around our kids and this disease and have embrased the platford it has given us to speak and make a difference. Maybe one day we won’t need to walk for the cure because it will already be here!
