kitchen makeover

kitchen makeover
Steve & I moved into our delightful 1950’s cape cod seven years ago.  We knew it was going to be the perfect place to call home for many years to come & loved almost everything about the house… besides the kitchen. We put a few band-aids on the situation, knowing we would eventually do a remodel & this summer it has officially begun! Here is what we’ve been coming home to the past month… .

One of the gift projects I worked on this past Christmas on behalf of my lovely mother-in-law was putting together a custom collection of recipes. She wrangled up all the info & I took care of the rest.  The result… a very popular book among all our aunts, uncles & cousins. Want to pass on your family favorites?  We’d be happy to make the custom covers for your famous treats. Do you like seeking .

thank you for the birthday goodies!

thank you for the birthday goodies!
You know who you are:)  What more could a girl ask for… fresh flowers, funky beach bag, hip belt buckle, oh-so-sweet handmade clutch, a house that smells like Hawaii, homemade chocolates and more!  Who says it hard to buy a gift for a girl who owns a gift shop?  I love it all – thank you * thank you * thank you!

I hope all of you had a delightful Christmas filled with wide smiles. Isn't it just as fun to give the perfect present as it is to receive it?  Here's a snapshot of what landed under my tree this year.   Lots of lovely goodies from Etsy like this felted bird nest ring with 3 little sewn pearl beads in the center.  It's my new favorite ring!   And sticking with the bird theme, .

Tuesday & Gus got in the Christmas spirit as I was trimmin’ the tree… even he likes to sport our sweet psychedelic tree light glasses! My mom recently handed down some of my favorite ornaments since my parents are now spending the 25th in sunny Florida. I just love these walnut shell creations.  I have fond memories of attending the classic high school holiday bazaars with my mom as a child… where most likely .

For the past number of years I’ve made it a tradition to put a little something extra in my Christmas cards.  Sometimes it was a handmade ornament packaged in a bright metallic bubblelope, or a mixed cd full of our favorite holiday tunes.  Regardless, it made my heart smile to know the recipients would get an extra grin when they opened their mail that day. A couple of years ago, our family got these .

moving memories

I plead guilty to the M.I.A. charge this past week.  We’ve been moving our design studio, offices & web warehouse which means I’ve been one tired gal… too busy & tired to blog in the evenings.  But now that we’re somewhat situated in the new place, my fingers are happy as clams to be typing (rather than gripping large dusty boxes & shelving) I still can’t seem to remove the lovely dirt line under .

So many sweet surprises came my way for my birthday, I couldn’t resist sharing some of my goodies with you. Look at this box!  I squealed with delight when the postman delivered this gem.  Leave to my friend Aly (owner of the lovely boutique, Bloom) to transform a shoe box into a magical home for a fantastic collection of birthday goods. After all, what birthday is complete without a crown, lei and pink hippo .

just because presents – my favorite!

just because presents – my favorite!
A curious box came my way recently from my very good friend, Michelle. These are my very, very, very favorite kind of surprises – the ones just because. Even Tuesday had a fine time playing with the raffia & tissue paper. This funny retro squirrel & nut box is so cute.  It even has ‘Betty ’59’ inscribed on the bottom (a true crafty keepsake).  It was full of goodies for art journaling and finds .

Some other delightful presents I received this Christmas included a bottle of delicious smelling laundry detergent.  I just used it on a load of sheets and they came out super soft and oh-so-sweet smelling.  I can’t wait to curl up in them tonight.  I’ve already contacted the company to see if they wholesale the product so catching fireflies can start carrying it… just in time for Valentine’s Day. My thoughtful husband recalled me raving .
