I’m definitely a crafty gal, but during the Christmas season I tend to turn it up a notch (hence all these DIY posts that are popping up lately).  My slight addiction to Pinterest has also been and inspiration ~ that’s where I found this cute felt kissing ball by ohdeedoh.com We’re having a couple holiday parties so I thought it would be fun to hang it in our main entry way to the kitchen .

Our retail teams double in size during the busy month of December…. so before we head into the busiest weekend of the year, I wanted to put together a little something to let them know they’re appreciated. I wanted it to be creative, thoughtful & fun… and fairly easy to put together since I needed to make 24 of them. I picked out a variety of super soft & colorful slipper socks & grabbed .

I get inspiration for my store windows from many things, people & places… one of them being Anthropologie.  I blogged about these amazing windows I saw in New York in the summer of 2008. Typically Steve & I travel to West Michigan for all holidays since both of our families are there, but since we’re hosting an exchange student &  recently  had our kitchen remodeled our family is coming down to Detroit for Thanksgiving this year. a wish for the new year
Did December fly by so fast that you didn’t get a chance to send greetings to your friends & family?  I got my cards out a few days before the 25th, but thought they could easily be sent as New Year’s cards. I started with some coloful papers, ribbon, a scalloped scissors & our wish tokens. And since I hand delivered our neighbor’s cards, I included some sweet sipping chocolate as well.  Since we .

Since we're collecting handmade Valentine cards from our firefly fans to distribute at local assisted living homes, we thought we'd share some clever ideas from Miss Martha and Disney's Family Fun. I like how these pretties were created from simple things like pencils, cupcake liners, left-over candy canes from Christmas, conversation hearts, dum dum suckers and cut up paper doilies.  Click HERE to see all of Martha's card ideas and HERE to see what .

One of the many things I'm thankful for is friends who encourage me to be creative just because.  It's really easy for me to get wrapped up into doing things solely for work so when I got the invite from my friend Michelle to participate in an artist ornament exchange, I accepted the challenge and came up with this silly character I gathered up some burnt-out retro Christmas light bulbs. colorful wire, assorted beads .
